Weigh in #7 & Weekend Eats

Last week and over the weekend I kicked butt. I was under my calories every day. I also worked out 4 times last week. I did 3 days of cardio and 1 day of yoga plus I walked a ½ mile every day at lunch. I was killing it. Even on Friday when we had a BBQ at work, I made a plan ahead of time of what I was going to eat and I stuck to it. I was feeling pretty smug. As the weeks go on living a healthy lifestyle gets easier and easier. I was stoked for my weigh in day.

Anywho on to my eats:

Saturday

Breakfast: Hubby made us some quesadillas on a low carb tortilla for breakfast and served it with sour cream. I added 2 eggs over easy for protein. I also had coffee.

Snack: Watermelon

Lunch: 1 cup of whole wheat spaghetti, ½ cup of marinara sauce, broccoli and chicken sausage and a diet coke.

Snack: orange and a slice of cheese

Dinner: Had not gone shopping but was really craving a big salad. Woo hoo for taste buds changing. I ordered a southwest salad from a local restaurant. I made sure to measure out 2 tbs of the chipotle ranch salad dressing. It was delicious!

Exercise: 30 minute cardio dance DVD

Total Calories: 1,914

Calories burned from workout: -350

Sunday

Breakfast: Decided to go out for breakfast. I got 2 eggs over easy with hot sauce, 2 sausage links, sliced tomatoes and an English muffin and had coffee with it.

Bonus: Here is Elliana enjoying her chocolate chip pancakes.

Snack: On the way to Elli’s swim lessons I ate a string cheese (no picture).

Lunch: Hubby made some chicken burgers with sweet potato waffle fries. Major props to Rich, since he knows I'm tracking my food he made sure to tell me that he gave me exactly 1 serving of fries and he put half an avocado on my burger.

Snack: Berry, vanilla ice cream bar. Only 20 calories and hit the spot.

Dinner: Was sooo tired from meal prepping and it was already 9 pm by the time I was done. Decided to just have some yogurt with blueberries and hemp hearts.

I learned the coolest hack for yogurt. Normally I think non-fat, plain, Greek yogurt tastes nasty, but this was a game changer. You take plain, nonfat Greek yogurt and to sweeten it just put in 1 tbs of any sugar free pudding mix. I bought the white chocolate pudding mix and it made the yogurt taste like cheesecake!

Bonus: Meal prep Sunday was a success

Exercise: none, my well-deserved rest day

Total Calories: 1,547

Highest weight (pre-pregnancy): 270
Starting weight (June 2021): 215

Last week’s weight: 208
Current weight: 207.8 (-0.2)
Total weight loss since June: -7.2 lbs.

Womp, womp! To say I had a mini meltdown after only losing .2 was an understatement. Poor hubby had to talk me off the ledge. I am completely baffled by this miniscule loss after doing so well all week. It makes no sense, and I am bewildered but I have no choice but to keep moving forward. It is still a loss so I’ll take it. I am on week 7 and so far, and I have lost a little over 7 lbs. which seems healthy, and realistic and that is something I can definitely sustain. In times like this you have to focus on the sliver lining.

Ok, here is your Monday Motivation:

On Wednesday I was in the foulest mood. I was mentally and physically exhausted and cranky from dealing with Elliana throwing toddler tantrums every 2 minutes. The house also looked like a bomb had exploded. I was in the worst mood and in such a negative frame of mind by the time I put her to bed. Normally I would have ordered a bunch of food for delivery to make me feel better but not today Satan, not today. Instead, I got on the treadmill for 45 minutes and once I was done, I had gotten a burst of energy to power through the rest of my evening and my mood had completely turned around. I felt 100 times better and what had seemed overwhelming earlier, seemed like no big deal afterwards. I forget how good exercise is for my mental health.
