Weigh in #8 & Weekend Eats

So last week I lost 0.2 lbs. and it was a little bit deflating, but I had no choice but to keep moving forward. So I did exactly that and this week was a mirror image of last week. I tracked my calories and stayed within my range which is 1,800. I also did cardio 3 times this week, walked half a mile at lunch 4 out of 5 days and I did yoga once. I also managed to meal prep for the week even though this weekend I was feeling like poop. Elliana was sick again and I was feeling like I was coming down with it too. I was both exhausted and drained and didn’t want to do move from the couch, much less meal prep. But I knew that if I didn’t do it, this week could turn very bad, very fast. Which is what happened last month when I got a sinus infection and then went off the rails for a week and a half and gained over 2 lbs. Not this time, oh no, I had learned my lesson the first time. I popped some Tylenol and was able to muster the energy to make our meals for the week. So I did really well but

Last week and over the weekend I kicked butt. I was under my calories every day. I also worked out 4 times last week. I did 3 days of cardio and 1 day of yoga plus I walked a ½ mile every day at lunch. I was killing it. Even on Friday when we had a BBQ at work, I made a plan ahead of time of what I was going to eat and I stuck to it. I was feeling pretty smug. As the weeks go on living a healthy lifestyle gets easier and easier. I was stoked for my weigh in day. Anywho on to my eats: Saturday Breakfast: Hubby made us some quesadillas on a low carb tortilla for breakfast and served it with sour cream. I added 2 eggs over easy for protein. I also had coffee.   Snack: Watermelon Lunch: 1 cup of whole wheat spaghetti, ½ cup of marinara sauce, broccoli and chicken sausage and a diet coke.   Snack: orange and a slice of cheese Dinner: Had not gone shopping but was really craving a big salad. Woo hoo for taste buds changing. I ordered a southwest salad from a local restaur

I did really, really well this past week. I also worked out for at least 30 minutes 5 out of 7 days. Making the healthy decisions and having the motivation to workout was getting easier and like 2 nd nature now. I was on a roll. On Saturday I woke up feeling crummy and my cough & sinus pain that I’ve had for a month now had gotten a lot worse. But even though I felt like poop I continued to eat well, and I did my normal 30-minute workout I just lowered the intensity. Miraculously on Sunday I woke up feeling like 90% better. No more sinus pain, barely any cough and lots of energy. So odd but I will take it. On Sunday is Elliana’s swim class and I’m not super happy to be having to slap on a swimsuit and get in the water with her but it’s for her so I do it. This particular Sunday she had a substitue swim instructor. Her regular swim instructor was out and her sub was this incredibly cute young kid, maybe 20 or so. I had never seen Elliana take to someone so fast. She was smili

Weigh in #5 & Weekend Eats (4th of July edition)

I hope everyone had an amazing 4th. Yay, America day. The last week in June, I really kicked it up a notch. My goal was to lose 3.5 lbs. in June and because of my week and a half of gluttony I was only 2lbs down with 1 week left. I did not think I was going to make my goal, but I wanted to give it my all and at the end of the week, regardless of the scale I wanted to look back and feel proud and know that I did everything I could, and I gave it 110%. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Although looking at my first weekend in July, I could have done a lot better. On Saturday I ended up having close to 450 calories worth of snack. Do better Mary, do better! Sunday after spending 4 th of July with family and swimming in the pool we were pooped and ended up getting Taco bell. Why???? On Monday I got my act together again and meal prepped low carb eggplant lasagna for a few lunches and chopped some veggies for healthy salads. Setting the rest of the week up for success prepared
